| 17 | FTP4ALL was designed to require no superuser privileges. The | |
| 18 | advantages are that FTP4ALL cannot be exploited to gain root access on | |
| 19 | a machine. And second, any user on a UNIX box can run this server. | |

| 21 | However, FTP4ALL is not designed to replace wu-ftpd or any other | |
| 22 | system-level FTP server, for it does not use the default user database | |
| 23 | (/etc/passwd or NIS or whatever), or the UNIX file and directory | |

| 25 | and file and directory permission system. | |
